Eclipse Awning ABT System

Revolutionary Tensioning System

Eclipse Awnings use a revolutionary tensioning system that is comprised of nine high carbon galvanized steel cable encased in a UV proof polyamide coating. This design is better at providing stability and longer life than the single or double cables and/or chains found in most awnings. Eclipse calls this the Advanced Belt Technology (ABT) System. This system has been tested to 60,000 cycles (an opening and closing), far more than the 5,000 and 8,000 cycles that cables and chains have reached.

Eclipse Retractable Awning Arms

High Quality Retractable Awning Arms

The core of any retractable awning system is the arms because the performance of the awning is based on the arm's strength. Eclipse has engineered their awnings so that the arms keep the fabric tight through the use of internal springs and Advanced Belt Technology (ABT). Eclipse arms use the right combination of injection cast aluminum and extruded aluminum and robotic assembly to achieve the required precision and the right performance characteristics of rigidity, flexibility and torsion. The aluminum is epoxy coated and hydraulically pressed during manufacture to ensure long-lasting and safe operation. Eclipse uses computer systems to ensure the arms provide equal tension so the fabric fits perfectly without sagging.

Shock-Absorbing Torsion Bar

Shock-Absorbing Torsion Bar

Eclipse Awnings employ a 40mm square steel bar in the design (50mm for 13' projections and greater). This galvanized and powder-coated bar provides flexion as the awning moves, giving the awning a very strong foundation. In highly corrosive environments, such as near the ocean, an aluminum torsion bar is used.

High Quality Frame Casting

High-Quality Frame Casting

All Eclipse castings are created using an injection molding process and finished with a superior powder-coating to ensure long-lasting durable construction.

Eclipse Superior Frame Finish

Superior Frame Finish

Eclipse Awnings are chemically and mechanically treated for maximum coating adhesion, primed with an antioxidant and painted with high-quality powder coating. Moreover, these Awnings are coated after assembly which ensures that all joints and seams are completely finished.

Strong Roller Tube

Strong Roller Tube

Eclipse Awnings use 78mm diameter Roller Tubes made from cold rolled galvanized steel for superior strength.

Sleek Protective Hood

Sleek Protective Hood

Eclipse offers an optional hood for additional fabric protection. The hood is comprised of powder-coated extruded aluminum to match the frame and provide maximum strength and long-lasting durability.

Easy Operation Motors

Easy Operation Motors

Eclipse Awnings use Somfy motors and electronic components. Somfy is the global leader in awning and window treatment motors. Motors provide easy opening and closing of the awning with the simple touch of a button. Optional accessories include sun and wind sensors to aid in the operating of your awning.

Durable and Beautiful Outdoor Fabrics

Durable and Beautiful Outdoor Fabrics

Eclipse awnings use high-quality solution dyed acrylic fabrics made by Sunbrella, the global leader in outdoor and marine fabrics. Solution dyed fabrics are superior to other fabric types because the acrylic fibers resist fading for years. Moreover, the non-organic acrylic fabric is resistant to mold and mildew which can destroy organic-based fabrics.

Cross Arm System for Large Projections on Narrow Awnings

Cross Arm System for Large Projections on Narrow Awnings

The Eclipse Cross Arm is a specially designed awing that enables an awning with a larger projection than the width of the awning.
